Saturday, 6th of August 2016 – Canal Pride

Last weekend OUTtv, a tv channel focused on the LGBT community, invited me to join the Europride in Amsterdam. I was super excited to perform at this giant event. The expected amount of people at the Europride: 1 000 000 people. Incredible right?! So on Saturday we (my tourmanager and I) arrived at the hotel that happened to be the best and well known hotel of Amsterdam – Legend The Grand. Even Prince slept in this hotel when he came to The Netherlands.

The hotel

So we were off to a great start. After that, it was time for me to get on the OUTtv boat for the parade. Every boat on the Canal Parade has a theme and ours was kissing men and women, therefore they hired a kisscam, a popular thing in America to make two people kiss (for those who don’t know what it is, a video). So, time for a soundcheck and the rehearsal … just the usual. After an hour or so, we picked up the other party people and we started our tour through Amsterdam. Between bridges, Marga Bult and I sang songs for everyone on the boat and all the visitors on the sides of the canal.

One big party as one happy family! I enjoyed watching people singing along with my songs and smiling. Honestly, a feeling you can’t describe. ❤️

Sunday, 7th of August 2016 – The closing party

So after that we went out for a lovely dinner and went back to the hotel. On Sunday I had another performance planned on the Rembrandpein at the closing party. I shared the stage with the one and only Conchita Wurst (more known as the winner of the Eurovision Songfestival) but also the ambassador of the Europride Festival. The audience and the vibe was amazing.
